He was Professor Emeritus of Art History and Curator of Northwest Coast Art at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle, Washington. Holm’s book “Northwest Coast Indian Art: An Analysis of Form,” was first published in 1965 and is one of the bestselling books ever published by the University of Washington Press.
