The carving depicts a chief with a spear. Brad Joseph was born in 1963 and lives on the Capilino Reservation in Northern Vancouver B.C. he is a member of the Coast Salish Nation. It was his brothers that taught him how to carve. He typically carves traditional style Coast Salish wood plaques.
