Betty Denis Joe of the Kwakwaka'wakw was born in Duncan, BC in 1967 and has the Sea Wolf as her family crest. She is known worldwide for her outstanding art. She learned to carve under a great carver named Simon Charlie who was her uncle. She has been carving for over 20 years and has achieved world-wide attention with her carvings being known and collected by people from all over the world.
