Garnet Tobacco is a Cree artist, born in 1964, in Moose Lake, Manitoba. His artistic style has been shaped by the traditions of Aboriginal peoples whose ancestral home is northern Manitoba. The buffalo is his family crest symbol. Garnet has been painting for over 20 years and his style has been greaty influenced by the prominent artist Issac Bignell who he apprenticed under.
